The Hand & Arm Swing.

Your 'Hand & Arm Swing' can be a very simple and effective movement providing you have Addressed the ball correctly that creates a foundation of 'Angles & Lines' for your 'Core Body Movements' to rotate round. As your Core Movements rotate space will then be created around your body for your 'Hand & Arm Swing' to move freely into thus creating a free flowing and unrestricted 'Golf Swing'. Your 'Hand & Arm Swing' is the last of three components that I would like to talk about in your Golf Swing.

1. The Address & Posture Position.
2. Core Body Movements.
3. The Hand & Arm Swing.

With my 'Hand & Arm Swing Instruction' I am going to assume your Address & Posture is set squarely to suit the shot you are playing and the Club you are using. Then I would like to assume your Core Body Movements are rotating correctly round Angles & Lines within your Address Position thus allowing me the opportunity to talk about the movements and positions an efficient and effective Hand & Arm Swing should make!

Introduction to the Hand & Arm Swing.

Within my 'Hand & Arm Swing Instruction' I am going to talk primarily about the movements the 'Hands & Arms' should be encouraged to make within your 'Golf Swing' and how these movements control your swing's 'Rhythm', 'Feel' and 'Positioning' as well as controlling the Golf Club to then be able to control your golf ball's Flight, Distance and Bounce, I have divided this Instruction into Five simple Lesson Headings for ease of learning.

These are;

1. The Take-away Swing.

2. The Backswing.

3. The Downswing.

4. The Hitting Area.

5. The Follow-Through Swing.

Your 'Take-Away Swing' is a critical movement as it helps to set your Clubhead on the correct 'Swing Plane' and 'Swing Path' and it will also give control to your Hand & Arm Swing when moving into your 'Backswing'.

When moving into the Backswing your 'Left Hand' & 'Left Arm' and 'Core Body Movements' should rotate round your Spine Angle to create the 'Feeling' of these movements leading and controlling your 'Golf Swing'.

Inside this lesson I will explain how these movements and feelings are created and I will explain the benefits to your Golf Swing.

A split second relaxed pause at the end of your Backswing will help you to complete a full 'Backswing Movement' and it will also help you to 'Feel' and control the start your 'Downswing' by using a relaxed controlled rhythm that will ultimately help to maintain a high level of 'Feel' and 'Control' over your 'Hand & Arm Swing' when they return into your 'Downswing'.

The 'Hitting Area' is by far the most important part of your 'Golf Swing'. You can unwittingly make mistakes in your Take-away Movement, Backswing or your 'Downswing' but it is imperative that your return the Clubhead squarely back to the ball at impact on the correct 'Swing Plane and 'Swing Path'.

The 'Follow-Through Swing' completes your Golf Swing and it should be a free flowing movement, which is the culmination of momentum from "Core Body Movements" rotating around the Spine Angle, Body Weight transferring from the Right Leg to your Left Leg and the momentum of your Hand & Arm Swing moving into space that has been created by your Core Body Movements rotating after striking the Golf Ball.
