Golf Swing Fault Finder | A Straight Ball Flight.

We can help correct your wayward ball flight or swing fault with a "Golf Swing Quick Fix"

Having the ability to manoeuvre your golf ball into play by deliberately changing it’s natural flight can be quite an advantage to have over your competitors. However I'm sure it becomes very frustrating when you play yourself out of position by playing shots that have an un-wanted or an un-controllable 'Ball Flight' that you did not intend to play!

Understanding different 'Ball Flights' and their common 'Swing Causes' is a vital part of understanding, controlling and improving your 'Golf Swing'. Within this 'Fault Finder' I offer a clear description and explanation of your chosen 'Flight' and also provide a list of Common Swing Faults that may be causing this un-wanted shot.

Key Swing Plane Terms!

The ball will fly on a straight line to Target if your Address & Posture is squarely positioned to your 'Target Line' that suits the type of shot you intend to play.

Your Address & Posture Positioning should create a foundation of 'Angles and Lines' for your 'Core Body Movements' to rotate around that will be created around your body for your 'Hand & Arm Swing' (Golf Swing) to move freely into, thus creating a natural and free flowing 'Swing Plane' and 'Swing Path'.

It's vital that your Club's angle of attack through your 'Hitting Area' is neither too steep nor too shallow to suit the shot you are playing, your 'Posture Positioning' will help to control this!

  • The term - Swing Path;

  • The term 'Swing Path' refers to the direction and path your Hand & Arm Swing and Clubhead are travelling on throughout the Swing.

    The direction of your Swing is then measured against your Target Line when impacting the Ball to ascertain whether it's square to this line, traveling from an Outside to Inside Path or an Inside to Outside Path.

    Please Note - the swing terms 'Outside to Inside' or 'Inside to Outside' or 'Square' refers to the direction your Golf Swing is traveling on in relation to your 'Target Line' when the Clubhead impacts the Ball.

  • The term - Swing Plane;

  • The term 'Swing Plane' refers primarily to the angle your Hand & Arm Swing and Club are traveling on when moving around your body.

    This Plane is measured when looking from a view down your Target Line by picturing a line that runs from the ball up through your right shoulder. The angle of this line is known as a 'Swing Plane' that should be in a neutral position which is neither too steep nor too shallow when your Swing rotaties around your Spine Angle.

  • An Important Point.

  • Your Address & Posture Position creates a foundation of 'Angles and Lines' for your 'Core Body Movements' and 'Hand & Arm Swing' to rotate round. Then as your 'Core Movements' rotate into your Backswing, Downswing & Follow-Through Swing space will be created around your body for your 'Hand & Arm Swing' (Golf Swing) to move freely into, thus creating a free flowing and balanced Golf Swing.

    With this motion your golf ball will fly on a straight line to Target if your Address & Posture is squarely aligned to your 'Target Line' and positioned correctly to suit the type of shot you intend to play.

                    Clubhead Square to 'Target Line'.

    Ideally your Golf Swing needs to move on a neutral Swing Plane when moving into your Backswing together with plenty of width in your Hand & Arm Swing.

    Your Swing should then return on the same neutral Swing Plane when moving through your Downswing and on to the Impact Position.

    After Impact your Swing should move naturally and freely into your Follow-Through Swing.
